New Cook Opportunity in Falkirk

Bield is one of the largest providers of housing and support services to older people in Scotland and everyone plays an important role in making sure that our services improve the lives of older people in Scotland.

Our Retirement Housing with Meals service, Thornhill Court in Falkirk, is looking for the right person to prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious dishes and be responsible for menu planning, food purchase and the provision of high-quality meals and snacks for service users in a care setting.

You will ensure that all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Bield and external regulators are met. You will also consult with service users to ensure individual dietary needs are met.

Hours of employment are 14 hours per week, organised in two-week set rotas as follows:

Week 1: Monday and Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm (including a 1 hour unpaid lunch break)

Week 2: Saturday and Sunday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm (including a 1 hour unpaid lunch break)


Role Requirements:

- experience of delivering a high standard of meal service

- understanding of nutritional and dietary requirements of older people

- an intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent is desirable.

There are also opportunities to join our bank of casual workers.

We offer:

- Cook hourly rate is GBP 9.35
