​​​​​​​Our amazing #TeamForrestWalk in Uphall, West Lothian are on the lookout for new colleagues to join them on a part-time (16 - 39 hours per week) basis! We also have relief opportunities if you are looking for something more flexible.

The Role

You’ll become part of a fun, friendly team who provide residential, respite and day care support to individuals with various disabilities and additional support needs.

There's never a dull moment at Forrest Walk, no two days are ever the same! As a Support Practitioner, you'll provide support with all elements of daily living, including cooking and preparing meals, personal care, administering medication and managing finances. You’ll also play a huge part in supporting the individuals with their hobbies and interests too, including cooking, baking, dominoes, basketball, going for walks and trips to the local pub to name a few.


About You

You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ qualification too!​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​All we’ll need you to bring is:-

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Confidence in the use of computers

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Shift Patterns

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​As we're dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual the shifts usually fall between the hours of 0700-2100 and will include sleepovers, waking nights and weekend and public holidays on a rotational basis.

Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional payment of £84 for every sleepover shift you work. Waking night shifts are paid at your normal hourly rate, plus an additional payment of £20 per night.​​​​​​​
