Are you looking for a career where you can make a difference in the lives of other every day?

We are looking for Team Members to join a new service in Condorrat for 36 hours per week.

The Role

We’re looking for Team Members to join a new team in Condorrat. You’ll be supporting a man with learning disabilities, epilepsy and other complex support needs as he moves into his own tenancy. This is an exciting opportunity to join this gentleman at the very beginning of his journey to settle into his own home and live independently.

As a Team Member, you’ll provide support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation and administering medication. With a focus on building and maintaining independence, you’ll help the person we support develop a productive daily routine and pursue his hobbies and interests. You’ll encourage and support him to make his own choices, help him to build upon his practical life skills and maintain his health and wellbeing. You’ll be creative and proactive in sourcing new opportunities and activities for him to enjoy and to help him achieve his own personal goals.

About You

We are looking for people with a passion to build relationships and positively change the lives of the people we support. What’s most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right attitude and values to make a difference – so, previous experience is not essential! However, it would be preferable if you have some knowledge and expertise in implementing Positive Behaviour Support.

The person we support has a mobility car and enjoys getting out and about; so, to enable him to do this, it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence.

To be a great Team Member, you will:

  • be a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
  • have an understanding of good team working and accountability
  • be able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with different people
  • be an excellent communicator and problem-solver
  • be confident in using IT to enhance the support you provide
  • confident in assisting with behaviours that challenge in a safe, dignified manner and using Positive Behaviour Support strategies
  • have good organisational and general administrative skills
  • be reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support

Shift Patterns

This is a twenty-four-hour service and support will initially be provided on a 2:1 basis. You should expect to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of your rota.

The shift pattern is likely to include long day shifts, for example 10.00 am to 10.00 pm, and sleepovers. Sleepovers are not included as part of your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment of between £76.00 to £95.00 per night.

Do you have any questions? To find out more, please contact Margaret McHenry on 0796 615 2776.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration.
