About the Role

Support the vital work that our team of Care Workers perform each and every day at Hanover Scotland. You’ll be attending to important care at home duties and using your natural people skills to brighten our customers day whilst working to provide care. Care Workers help define the environment for those who receive important care services. You’ll soon be living Hanover Scotland’s high standards of care and carrying out important care work that mean the world to our customers.

Main Responsibilities

This important Casual Care Worker Innerleithen role is on a casual basis. The job will require weekend and holiday working. The opportunity is for someone who wants to show their dedication, be part of a supportive environment. Feeling the reward of making a real difference to the lives of our cherished customers.

  • You’ll be expected to provide a dignified, safe and stimulating care service.
  • Encourage customers to exercise their choice and promote their independence.
  • Treat customers with dignity and respect to ensure their individual rights and responsibilities remain.
  • Contribute to a care planning process and deliver implementation.
  • Liaise professionally with external agencies, family members and carers.
  • Ethically participate in manual and electronic record maintenance,
  • Assist with personal cleanliness, mobility support, management of continence, support with daily personal tasks, and general housekeeping.
  • Wear fluid resistant face masks, and to use other Personal Protective Equipment as required, in accordance with our Coronavirus Risk Assessments.

  • To join us, you’ll need to have a genuine passion for caring for the elderly.
  • You’ll be able to demonstrate evidence of your passion and commitment.
  • An ability to empathise and care for the elderly.
  • Ideally, SVQ Level in Health and Social care or equivalent or willing to achieve through training.
  • You’ll be resilient, proactive, self-confident and customer-orientated.
  • PVG is required for this role.
