Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity.  SAMH has represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for more than 90 years.

Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

We have a vacancy for a Support Worker 1 in the Southside ARBD service.

ARBD Southside Response

37.5 per week

SW 1 early mid and late shifts only

This service supports people who have a diagnosed ARBD, (alcohol related brain damage) the successful candidate should be able to establish supportive relationships with service user offer them practical and emotional support. They will be able to demonstrate a solution focused approach to their work and a commitment to developing good team work practice.  

Some knowledge and experience of working with ARBD and the complexity this can have on service users would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided. Also, should have the ability to demonstrate a mature and caring attitude, with excellent listening and communication skills. 

The project operates, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and also staff may work within the ARBD Hoddam service.
