Trustee

Scottish Autism is dedicated to enabling autistic people to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. Established in 1968 by a group of parents, the organisation has gone from strength to strength and is now the largest provider of autism specific services in Scotland as well as being a leading authority and advocate for good autism practice.

Scottish Autism has its own innovative Centre for Practice Innovation (CPI), which delivers and develops leading autism policy, practice and research, and we have a strong national and international reputation for our expertise and change-making approach.

New trustees are needed to strengthen and contribute to our existing board and support our management team, in realising our charitable objectives and strategic priorities.

We will provide tailored support and development for new trustees and you will also work alongside a number of experienced Board Members who can share learning and experience.

Typical commitment is eight Board meetings a year. This is an unpaid position although reasonable expenses can be covered.

We warmly welcome applications from people with lived experience of autism.

If you are interested please review our information pack here and then submit your CV and a supporting statement (no longer than two pages). This should outline how you would meet the responsibilities of the role of trustee, what you would hope to contribute to Scottish Autism and what you hope to gain from undertaking this role to jean.foggartyenglish@scottishautism.org

Closing Date: Friday 21st October 2022

Interview Date: Tuesday 1st November 2022 (however we can be flexible)

Valuing diversity and promoting equal opportunities is at the heart of our vision, mission and values.
