Job Purpose

Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Job Details

A young lady that we support is at a new stage in her life. She is in the first phase of moving to her own home and is looking for a lovely female* staff to join her team and to support her through this exciting time.

This position is for 16 hours per week, and lives in Craigmillar, Edinburgh.

As this is a new service the shift pattern is still to be determined but it could look like, for example:

  • 30 pm –10 pm followed by a sleepover until 8.30 am for four days a week.
  • 7 am – 10 pm followed by a sleepover for three days per week.

About this opportunity

She is very sociable and enthusiastic and it is really important that she has a regular and structured routine. She loves going out to discos, loves dancing, all things Disney, enjoys the cinema, cafes, meals and hot chocolate is a real favourite. Her phone is important to her as is going to work in the kitchen and also attending drama. Both are held at Garvald.

Although it is not an essential criteria, a driving licence would be desirable for this post.
