An opportunity has arisen for a trainee practitioner to join our established, well qualified team at the Angela Elizabeth Nursery in Wilkieston, West Lothian.
The nursery is open Monday to Friday between 7.30am-6.00pm and registered to care for a maximum of 73 children per day between the age of 3 months - 5 years.
The trainee will gain practical experience in the nursery while studying towards SVQ level 3 in Children and Young People. The successful completion will result in the trainee becoming a fully qualified Childcare Practitioner.
This role is funded through the Modern Apprenticeship scheme so is open to candidates aged between 16 and 19 years of age. The trainee will also receive an MA salary. The trainee will be allocated a designated training assessor from Borders College who will support and guide them through the Modern Apprenticeship Programme.
The trainee will work as part of the nursery team providing quality care and education to all service users.
It is essential that the applicant have good communication skills, be enthusiastic, hardworking with excellent attendance and timekeeping.
Requirements
3 National Unit 4’s or 5’s at pass level (English essential)
Subject to registration with Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG)
Subject to registration with The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
