Play Assistant - Term Time

Peterculter Community Playgroup have a rare vacancy for a play assistant to join our team!

Approx 15-18 hours per week. Core hours Monday – Friday 9am-12pm, Aberdeen City Council term time dates starting August 2023

Your duties:

• Supporting the playgroup manager in developing, planning and organising play activities for children aged 2.5 to 5 within the national curriculum framework
• Setting up play equipment and making sure play areas are safe
• Meeting the care and support needs of young children
• Liaising with parents or carers
• Preparing snacks for the children
• Providing a safe and caring learning environment by ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Contribute to record keeping of children’s progress

Your requirements:

· NC in Early Education and Childcare (SCQF Level 6) or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) (SCQF Level 6)

· PVG membership for regulated work with children or, a willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made

· SSSC registration within 6 months of employment

· A willingness to learn and develop, be creative with ideas, enjoy working as a team, be a great communicator.

Culter Community Playgroup is a registered OCSR Charity (SC000761) and works in partnership with Aberdeen City Council to deliver funded ELC places.
