An exciting opportunity has arisen at our newly refurbished Carrongrove nursery as Deputy Manager. We are seeking a Deputy Manager to join Glenbervie to support the Manager in the everyday roles and responsibilities of running the nursery and to help develop the nursery further. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader, who is passionate for inspiring high quality care, they will be a positive role model, a great communicator and always consider the impact we have on children’s development. You should be forward-thinking and creative, you will provide ideas and an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn. You’ll be able to build and maintain strong relationships with your team and parents to enable individual children’s needs to be met.

Account-abilities include;

• Support and develop an enabling environment that is child-led, using both indoor and outdoor spaces effectively

• Support and encourage decisions effectively to ensure that toys, equipment and soft furnishings both indoors and outdoors support high quality practice and learning.

• Be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children, dealing with colleagues and parent issues as they arise.

• To support and actively promote the safety, security and well-being of all children, colleagues and visitors.

• To support the financial sustainability of the setting, which will include marketing, show arounds, promoting events, managing waiting lists, open days and managing staff deployment effectively.

• To ensure excellent levels of customer service to all visitors.

• To have awareness of any legislation relating to your role.

We would expect you to be adaptable to change, a creative thinker with a strengths-based approach to problem solving and communication. You will have a SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent in Early Years and have experience working with children aged 0-5 and have been in senior position for at least 12 - 18 months.

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with children, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by us.
