Location:  Aberdeen City Music School Hall of Residence

Duration:  Permanent, Part Time - 25 hours per week

ACMS Boarding is a home-from-home for musically gifted young people aged 11-18 from all over Scotland and the Isles. This post offers an incredible opportunity for someone wishing to work in a caring environment, with a dedicated team who have the welfare of the child at the core of their practice

Job Purpose:

To work as part of a team and take responsibility for the delivery of high quality care to the young people who board (term-time) at Aberdeen City Music School Hall of Residence. To provide a safe, consistent and caring environment that encourages and nurtures young people to develop positively and achieve their full potential

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

SSSC/GTC Registration or willing to become a member

PVG Scheme Membership

 

An SVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People) and HNC in Social Care or a social work or equivalent registerable qualification (See SSSC website) is preferable, but not essential

Responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

Work holistically as part of the team and to assist with the delivery of high quality care to young people consistent with the policies and procedures of Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen City Music School Hall of Residence

Support the Management Team with the day-to-day running of the service, setting the culture of a positive environment to live in and work in

Have keyworking responsibilities for initiating and maintaining personal plans and individual assessments in accordance with GIRFEC and SHANARRI principles

Be involved in the planning and implementation of a range of recreational activities for young people

Attend and participate in staff meetings, supervision and performance review and development

Undertake relevant training

Work the hours and patterns that the service requires, which include day, evening and weekend hours
