Job Description

Location:  Kirkhill, Cults, Mile End & Countesswells Schools

Duration:  Permanent, Part Time

Kirkhill School - 19.5 hours (After School club)

Cults School - 26.25 hours  (Breakfast & After School club)

Mile End School - 18.75 hours (After School club)

Countesswells School - 18.75 hours (After School club)


About the role:

To work as part of a team in planning and delivery of effective Out of School Care provision to meet the individual needs of children and their families, ensuring their wellbeing and improving play experiences and outcomes for all service users


The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

SVQ Level 2 in Playwork, SSCYP or CCLD(SCQF Level 6) or demonstratable equivalent experience & knowledge 

Registration with Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC)

PVG Scheme Membership


The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

Skills & Experience in:

Delivering a high quality Out of School Care service

Experience of working directly with school aged children

Experience of planning for and assessing children’s learning and play experiences

Ability to relate to children, parents, carers and other professional colleagues

Managing and maximising resources

Effective written and verbal communication

Using a variety of ICT packages including email, internet and Microsoft applications (word and excel)

Commitment to:

Achieving Best Value

Improving outcomes for children, young people, and families

Ensuring that organisation, performance, improvement objectives and standards are achieved

Keeping up to date with approaches, policy, and practices

Undertaking training to develop self and service

Understanding of:

Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014
