Location: Marischal College

Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week

Job purpose:

To deliver statutory, child protection and child welfare services to children, young people and their families.



The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

BA Social Work qualification or equivalent DipSW, CQSW

SSSC Registration




The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

The ability to assess and communicate effectively with service users, staff and other stakeholders to achieve improved outcomes for service users

Ability to relate to and work with a wide range of professionals, service users and carers

Ability to manage risk

Ability to manage priorities and deadlines

Ability to assess and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of individuals including service users and other professionals

Interviewing and investigation skills

Assessment skills (including finance)

Ability to manage constant and often conflicting demands

Ability to make decisions and take responsibility for own practice, seeking advice and support as necessary

Ability to organise and manage own workload in the context of the demands from a multi-disciplinary team

Ability to maintain an outcome focus

Counselling and support skills

Organising, chairing, taking part in regular meetings

Leadership and participation in individual and team development

The ability to challenge practice including investigating complaints with a view to improving practice
