Job Description
The Early Years Deaf Support Worker will work as an effective member of the hearing support team, delivering a high quality child-centred service which meets the needs of deaf children and their families.
They will work with different pupils in a nursery or primary education setting, or alongside a teacher of the deaf within the home setting, as appropriate.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
Place of Work. You will be placed on an Aberdeenshire-wide contract of employment as you are employed to meet the needs of a deaf children and their families throughout Aberdeenshire. Your work base will be Westhill Academy.
A mileage allowance will be available in accordance with Aberdeenshire Council policy. There will be a requirement to work in multiple settings and a willingness to travel to and between these locations.
Working pattern. Monday/Tuesday 6 hours per day. Wednesday mornings 3 hours.

Requirements
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
