An opportunity has arisen, due to internal promotion of the previous post holder, to lead and manage, alongside colleagues, the Children and Families team in the town of Oban.  The post offers a broad range of children and families work, from early support, through child protection, statutory work with care experienced children and young people, through to managing the processes leading to adoption.

In addition to the Oban and Lorne areas, the team provides services to many of Argyll’s inhabited islands, offering diverse learning opportunities for managers looking to further enhance their skills and knowledge in a remote rural/island setting. The role includes participation in our out of hour’s service which provides the unique opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of the range of all social services across the whole age and ability ranges.

If you are already an experienced manager, or a social worker with four years’ experience in a children and families setting who is looking to pursue a career in managing children’s services, we would like to discuss this opportunity with you.

Argyll and Bute promotes flexible working where this is compatible with service provision. A relocation package is available if required.
