We are looking to recruit an Administrative Support Officer to work as part of our Projects and Engagement team within the Council’s Roads and Infrastructure service.

This role provides support to the whole of Roads and Infrastructure in dealing with correspondence – Freedom of Information requests, complaints, elected member enquiries, community councils and much more.

It is a fast paced role which focusses on supporting services to every single household in Argyll and Bute, from bin collections to school transport to streetlighting.

The postholder will work as part of a wider team and will likely focus on enquiries for specific geographic areas, although the precise allocation of work will be determined after recruitment.

There is also the opportunity to support various projects with a focus on channel shift, getting information online and allowing customers to self serve.

Most of the team are based in Lochgilphead but this role can be filled from anywhere, although travel to Lochgilphead will be required for team meetings and in the early stages at least two days a week for training.

Argyll and Bute Council recognises the numerous benefits of a positive work-life balance to the wellbeing and productivity of our employees. We will take a flexible first approach to requests from our employees to change the way that they work. While we must balance such requests with the need to ensure the quality of the important services we deliver is not compromised, we will ensure that each request is given careful consideration with a view to achieving a positive outcome wherever possible.
