Commercial Services are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to become their Property Asbestos Officer within their Property Maintenance Section.

 

Ideally you should be from a trade’s background, had asbestos awareness training and possess a knowledge of delivering multi-trade property works and/or maintenance.

 

Experience of working in environments where there has been asbestos containing materials would also be beneficial, however further training will be provided by the Council based on your knowledge and understanding.

 

The main focus of the post will be to undertake and record re-inspections of asbestos containing materials in properties which have existing asbestos management surveys. You will also have responsibility for arranging the Councils asbestos management survey and re-inspection programmes, working with specialist asbestos surveying/removal companies to deliver any necessary asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition/Management surveys and asbestos removals.  So good organisational skills are required.

 

You will alsoassist with delivery of Councils property related emergency/planned maintenance programs as well as providing technical support on property related matters, so a good all round understanding of the building/construction environment is essential.
