This is an exciting opportunity for someone who seeks to further their career in Finance.

Based in a city centre location with convenient access to transport links, you will work in a team which provides financial support to the Communities and Families service including day to day financial advice and support to budget managers, budget monitoring, budget development, final accounts and supporting financial strategy, major projects and transformational change. 

Communities and Families provides a wide range of services including education and early years, children’s social work, sport and lifelong learning, family support, criminal justice and support to people experiencing homelessness.

The Accountant role will provide direct support to special schools, additional support for learning and children’s social work services, however, flexibility and adaptability are important to support the delivery of wider team priorities as and when required.

As a member of the Finance Accounting Team you will work closely with colleagues in the delivery of financial advice and guidance to service managers ensuring the highest standards of client service, professional practice and financial governance are achieved.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.  For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
