Deputy Manager – CRANE Services
24 Broughton Place
Salary: £32,123 - £ 38,340
Hours: 36 per week – shift work basis
Edinburgh Community Justice services are committed to providing high quality services while ensuring a compassionate approach to service users and supporting staff wellbeing. We offer a high level of training to support continuous professional development and to deliver a broad range of services and interventions. We are implementing Trauma Informed Care, Safe & Together™ and Restorative Justice practice models and interventions across our services, and are establishing a Women’s Centre, in partnership with NHS Lothian, to reduce barriers and meet the needs of women involved in the community justice system.
We are seeking a Depute Manager for our CRANE Services and invite applications from candidates interested in contributing to our dedicated, professional, and supportive team.
CRANE services work with people who present a high risk of harm in terms of sexual and/or violent offending. We provide residential accommodation and outreach services as part of multi-agency risk management planning to support those making the transition from prison back into the community.
We take pride in our contribution to Community Justice risk management and in the care we take in helping people resettle successfully. We would welcome interest from candidates who view this work with same positivity and enthusiasm.
We work closely with other professionals to ensure adequate sharing of information, with a view to enhancing individual risk management plans. Our partners include:
- Community Justice Services
- Police Scotland
- Housing Options team
- Parole Board Scotland
- Scottish Prison Service
- NHS/Recovery Services
- Third Sector Services
We are seeking interest from candidates who demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are willing to work in a dynamic environment. Candidates must be willing to work alongside the residential staff on a shift basis.
Candidates will have HND/SVQ4 level (or equivalent) in Social Care or a related field. They will also have extensive experience of working in Criminal Justice and/or Social Care. Experience in management or leadership roles would be welcome as this post holder is required to support the manager and provide direct supervision to CRANE Case Coordinators and CRANE Support Staff.
We are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
