Early Years Officer
Fox Covert Early Years Centre

Salary: £26,393 - £31,484
Hours: 36 hours per week

Fox Covert is a large, busy Centre, with capacity for 85 children, attending various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, 52 weeks per year. Our staff team is made up with a combination of 52-week staff and 39-week, term time staff. Hours are worked on a rota system, 36 hours per week, to fit the needs of the Centre. The Centre is supported with trained staff, in an environment that is both warm and welcoming. We have a Froebelian approach, supporting all learners to be the best they can, in a nurturing and rich setting.

Within our Centre, there is an expectation for the Early Years Officer to support children with complex backgrounds and to assist in the management of Child Protection. You will be working as part of a more Senior Management Team, with responsibility for guiding staff in the management of consistent, positive, daily routines for all our learners.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in Grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
