Primary Teacher - Fixed Term until 22/12/2023
St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary

Salary: £28,113 - £42,336 per year
Hours: 35 hours per week

St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced teacher to join our teaching team on a fulltime fixed term contract basis.

We welcome applications from practitioners who will work to ensure learners at St Andrew’s develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to demonstrate four key capacities – to be successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. Planning, teaching and assessing, enriching and enjoyable learning experiences is an essential part of the position. In return we offer a welcoming, supportive work place, and numerous opportunities to develop as a professional.

Our school benefits from a diverse staff team with a range of experiences and interests. We have a team of Pupil Support Assistants, 7 class teachers, a Principal Teacher and a visiting PE teacher. The school is well supported by a Business Manager, a School Administrator and a Service Support Officer.

As a Roman Catholic School, St Andrew’s proudly serves Catholic families as well as families from a range of other faith traditions. Our wide catchment area ensures we have a diverse and vibrant community! Our school values ‘nurture, inspire, flourish’ underpin our daily actions and long term intentions. We are the only school in Scotland recognised for excellence in outdoor learning so a commitment to bring learning alive outside the classroom is essential. We are also working to become the greenest school in Scotland! You can find out more about our work by visiting www.standrewsfoxcovert.com

Teachers are responsible for seeking approval of the Bishop of a Diocese for appointment to any post in a Catholic School in that area. For details on how to seek approval please go to http://sces.org.uk/church-approval

Should you wish to discuss further, please contact the Head Teacher via the school office on 0131 339 2383.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
