Job Description

Place

Transport Technician - Fixed term until 30/06/2021
Waverley Court

Salary: £25,623 - £30,563
Hours: 36 per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Technician role within a project team to assist in the planning and delivery of the Communal bin review project.

This project is aiming to increase and improve recycling services to residents in multi-occupancy and flatted properties providing integrated waste and recycling services (each location aiming to have residual waste, recycling, food waste and glass) and review the existing bin locations to develop more formalised collection hubs to improve the perception of the service and enhance the street scene.

As a Transport Technician you will be part of the Communal Bin Review Project Team collaborating with several key Council departments - Roads, Parking, Planning and Transport.

You will be responsible for the coordination of Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) requests, coordinate the writing of committee reports for any TRO’s when required, ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and ensure that road safety requirements are met, both within controlled parking zones and no controlled parking zones.

You will also support the coordination of waste and recycling bin provision changes as part of the Road Capital Programme and support the Communal Bin Review project team if any road works need to be carried out as part of the Communal Bin Review project.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.  For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
