Job Description

To provide an efficient and effective Gas service with the ability and skills to carry out all associated works involved within the Planned Investment and Compliance Team.

Gas Engineer duties, and assisting the Gas Project Coordinator on a day to day basis with main duties through reactive maintenance will be included in the role, Gas Servicing and managing the Planned Upgrade programme of work as well as managing reactive calls are within the remit of the post.

A key thing is to ensure the responsibility of the Council as Landlord to Housing and Non Housing  properties in carrying out gas installations and safety checks to such properties in a proper and timeous manner along with associated paperwork, as laid down by the the Gas Safety (Installation and Use)  Regulations 1998.

The Gas Supervisor key functions include:

 

  • Monitoring, planning programming and allocating work to craft operatives, and external contractors.
  • All gas repairs and associated works.
  • To quality check the Installation of new domestic gas central heating systems and ensure completion paperwork is recorded within the Gas Team.
  • As a representative of the Maintenance Service the gas Supervisor will ensure the Council's values are promoted in every aspect of his work, with the remit to provide a seamless high quality response to the customer’s needs.
  • Working closely with the Gas Project Coordinator, ensuring that trades have the required level of training certifications both internal and with external operatives.

The Gas Supervisor will demonstrate high personal and professional standards, especially in respect of quality and customer service.
