Job Description

Clackmannanshire Council is committed to securing timely decisions for our care experienced children and young people.  To this end we have established a team of Champions to ensure focused Parenting Capacity Assessments and Permanence Planning to assist in making decisions about the best way forward to securing children and young peoples futures throughout childhood and beyond.  A vacancy has arisen in our Permanence Children's Champs team and we are looking for an experienced and skilled social worker to support our ambition to secure safe and stable futures for children.  Sitting within our Parenting Capacity and Permanence Champs Team, the work will consist of leading and/or supporting our Core Team social workers complete court reports and assessments and ensure timely decisions to help children and young people achieve stability, belonging and love in keeping with every child's human rights as defined within The Promise. Extensive experience, an understanding of the needs of looked after children and young people and a passion for securing their futures are essential.

Job Purpose

To provide a statutory Social Work Service in accordance with the provisions of relevant legislation and national and local guidelines.

To assume case management responsibilities specific to the Service, carrying out assessment of service users needs and risks, following Service procedures and delivering direct interventions to individuals and small groups as part of a programme of interventions. The role will also involve participating in structured consultation/supervision sessions and representing the Social Work Service in multi-disciplinary forums. This will all be in accordance with Council or hosted stakeholders arrangements, through a Service Level Agreement or Partnership arrangement.

 

Requirements

This post is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council. The cost of this check will be deducted from your salary.
