Cargenbridge Nursery setting caters for children aged 3-5 years old. We strive to provide an enriching, nurturing environment both indoors and out to help promote children's independence and curiosity. Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Nursery settings may operate between the hours of 8.00am – 6.00pm and employee working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service. The successful candidate will be required to work 7 hours per week 39 weeks per year, on a Wednesday.

Cargenbridge Primary School are seeking to recruit a committed and dedicated Depute Nursery Manager to cover a maternity leave from July 2025 for up to one year, to work as an effective member of our early years team delivering high quality child-centred service which meets the needs of children and their families.

 

As Depute Nursery Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager, ensuring that all children are provided with high quality early learning and childcare.

 

The successful candidate will have strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The individual must be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be ready to lead and manage team of staff.

 

You are required to hold a qualification in Social Services, Children & Young People at SCQF Level 7, or an HNC in Childhood Practice at Level 7 (or equivalent).

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
