You will be required to work 17 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.


Care Call is the Council’s monitoring and administration centre for the telecare service offering protection and assisted independent living to all its clients 24-hours a day, 7 days per week. In addition, Care Call provides the Council’s out-of-hours service, and lone worker monitoring services.


The Care Call team focus on its client’s safety prioritising knowledge of the issues they face and how to help address their needs. This requires a positive attitude, a calm approach and a commitment to provide a high-quality service.

Effective communication skills are crucial in this role including good listening and questioning abilities. The work of the team is underpinned by electronic record-keeping requiring accuracy and attention to detail when updating and creating personal data, recording technical faults and passing information to partners.

The team covers shifts across the 24-hour service including day shifts, back shifts & night shifts. This post is to cover day shifts on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8am and 12.15pm.

Finally, a standard grade or equivalent in English with previous experience in a customer focused service is essential.                                                                                                                                     

The main job responsibilities will be to act as the first contact for the recipients of the Care Call service, their emergency responders, carers, friends and family members, as well more general enquiries as part of the council’s out-of-hours service. These responsibilities require a range of administrative tasks to be completed in support of these services.


The Council will provide suitable systems, processes and training to support you in this role. This post is an office based post and due to the systems used there is no scope for hybrid working.
