The Employability and Skills Team are recruiting two Employment Key Workers on a secondment basis to work within our busy delivery team for a period of 6 months.

This challenging and exciting role will support the successful delivery of employability funded programmes.

The role involves working with a caseload of clients to help them remove any barriers to progression by accessing appropriate support and funding. The postholder must have a robust knowledge of local training providers and business sectors.  They should also be familiar with using the Hanlon system.

Whilst the post is based in Dumfries with flexible home working, the post-holder will be expected to be responsive to demand and work regionwide – mainly covering Annandale & Eskdale, Nithsdale and Upper Nithsdale. The hours for this post are 36 per week however, we would consider a combination of flexible working that can meet service needs.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement for this post, however if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

These posts may be suitable for secondment.  Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
