Dumfries and Galloway Council are looking to recruit a Museum Attendant to work at the Kirkcudbright Tolbooth and Art Gallery.

 

This is a highly responsible, permanent, part-time post involving working front of house in a busy museum and art gallery. We need a reliable, trustworthy, personable and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about providing a high standard of customer service. The role will involve greeting customers, answering telephones, providing customer information, serving and maintaining hygiene in the café, maintaining records and dealing with retail sales and cashing up. The ability to multitask and work under pressure is necessary.

 

A high level of communication and customer care skills and experience of working in visitor services are essential.

 

A good standard of education and some local knowledge of the area would be an advantage.

 

Hours of work will vary between summer and winter opening hours, but the pay is annualised to 18.75 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year. The post holder will be required to work every other weekend. The post entails significant periods of loan working.
