If you answered yes to any of these questions you could be just who we are looking for to join our Pensions team. As this is certainly no traditional administration job.  It requires someone with the ability to accurately scrutinise data/pension calculations and to be able to assist with the development of the systems used by the Service. However, it also a job in which you will be in a variety of regular contact with our diverse customers, this will include dealing with difficult situations such as bereavement and sudden death.

The ideal candidates will have the ability to not only recognise inconsistencies with data, but have the tenacity to help develop solutions, which drive forward the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.

You will need to be able to learn all about the Local Government Pension Scheme to understand how our systems work, and how to recognise incorrect data and calculations. A significant amount of work is carried out using Microsoft Office 365 packages, including Excel - using formulas to compare, contrast and reconcile data.

As part of the wider OD&HR team, within the People and Transformation Service, you must be resilient and willing and able to take charge of your own reflective learning.  This is in order to not only understand historical and current regulations, but to ensure that you keep up to date with guidance and policies to continue to deliver an effective and efficient Service. Working in a fast-paced environment with a demanding workload, you must be proactive, innovative, flexible and enthusiastic. You must have strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of customers in a number of different formats.
