Can you make a difference to the future lives of pupils a St Michael’s Primary School? We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Principal Teacher (1FTE permanent) who is highly motivated and has an excellent track record in providing high quality learning and teaching. We are looking to recruit someone who can support the Head Teacher to lead the school community, develop learning and teaching and ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential.
As Principal Teacher, you will work as part of a team under the direction of the Head Teacher and have responsibility for areas of school management. You will implement and take forward curriculum development and improvement within St Michael’s Primary School.
Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
This post forms part of Dumfries Learning Town schools and/or the Bridge to deliver courses as part of the BGE and /or senior phase curriculum as appropriate to meet the needs of our learners.
