Senior Planner Development Management (18/752)

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who can work as part of a small specialised team as well as on their own initiative. You should have be a full RTPI Member, educated to SCQF level 9 in planning or a related discipline and have substantial experience in development management across all types of casework. Your caseload will be diverse, varied, and stimulating involving a lot of major wind farm related cases, affordable housing applications, and a variety of other retail, leisure and community led projects and complex/major applications. The team also works closely with legal services in securing bonds and other legal obligations. You will prepare your own Reports, take part in Committee meetings, prepare appeal submissions, appear at appeal hearings, take part in PLIs, and engage with a range of key stakeholders including the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit, South of Scotland Enterprise, and the Council’s Economic Regeneration Team.
