£21,672 - £23,004

 

We are looking for applicants to join our team at an exciting time due to the rapidly changing environment, serving as a Senior Revenues Assistant within the Financial Wellbeing and Revenues (FWR) section. The post is full time, working 36 hours per week, with hours made up during normal office hours from Monday to Friday.

 

The FWR section of the Communities Directorate has responsibility for (amongst other things) the administration of Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payments, Housing Benefit, Free School Meal and School Clothing Grant assessment, Council Tax/Non-Domestic Rates billing and recovery, Benefit Maximisation, and the Scottish Welfare Fund.

 

Main duties will be to deal with customer contacts and applications for our various business routes, providing a detailed and professional communication route to customers, and ensuring records are updated accurately. You will be expected to deal with customer enquiries, be it face to face (when applicable), via email and on the phone.

 

Full training and support will be provided; however, you must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.

                                                                                                      

You will be confident and highly motivated with the ability to work within a challenging, but rewarding, working environment.

 

You must be computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, a pleasant manner, and good numerical skills. You must be able to meet deadlines and deal with issues professionally.

 

National 4 (or 5) English or Maths (or equivalent) and experience of dealing with the public are essential.

 

This post is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standards check, and this includes candidate vetting through Disclosure Scotland.

These posts are fixed term for up to 12 months.

This post may be suitable for secondment.  Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
