An opportunity is offered for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to apply for the role of Teacher of Home Economics at Castle Douglas High School/ Dalry Secondary School Partnership.

 

The Castle Douglas High School/Dalry Secondary School partnership would like to recruit a talented and committed Teacher who will bring a great deal of enthusiasm to this role. Applicants should be confident and able to demonstrate they are an experienced and innovative practitioner. They should have a sound and detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant aspects of Curriculum for Excellence 2-18 and be able to demonstrate they have a commitment to the vision, values and core priorities in the development of education, teaching and learning which meets the needs of all pupils.

 

The successful applicant will join a team of HE teachers. They will support and be supported to deliver high quality educational experiences and contribute to the positive management of the partnership by modelling school aims and values to maximise and recognise the attainment and achievement of all of our young people. The successful applicant may be required to teach at both Castle Douglas High School and Dalry Secondary.

 

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence, therefore, to apply if you are barred from working with children.

 

A significant relocation package of up to £5000 may be available to the successful candidate (Permanent positions only). Please see attached guidance for further information.

 

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
