Our Employability & Skills service operates on a region-wide basis delivering on our Council’s priorities and to support achievement of the ambitions of Dumfries and Galloway’s Local Outcomes Improvement Plan 2017-2027.
This post is funded by Dumfries and Galloway Council as part of our regional No One Left Behind remit. The ambition is to support our young people into a positive destination as part of a collective effort to tackle youth unemployment as a result of COVID impacts.
The postholder will be the main point of contact for our Local Employability and Skills Partnership work being delivered across Dumfries & Galloway and with all partnership agencies. The post holder will report directly to the Employability & Skills Development Manager, but this is a partnership post, and the role will support partners in the development, self-assessment and resulting improvement for our Local Employability Partnership.
Linking to national, regional, and local offers will be critical, ensuring that delivery meets local need and that the information about the guarantee is clear and readily available to young people. The post holder will be confident using social media and has responsibility to ensure the D&G Young Person’s Guarantee is promoted and accessible to all.
The post has a lead position within the service and the successful candidate will have responsibility for monitoring joint service budgets and contracting new and additional services to support the overall No One left Behind and Young Persons Guarantee employability approaches. Candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of budgetary management and the ability to analyse monitoring and performance reports to enable delivery and update of the Young Persons Guarantee.
This post is fixed term for up to 12 months.
