You will have relevant qualifications at HND level or equivalent relevant work experience.
The Adult Employability Service engages, prepares and supports jobless citizens to participate in the range of Employability Services that assists with removing barriers to employment, achieving qualifications, gaining work experience and ultimately supporting them into sustainable employment and specifically targets those who are long-term unemployed/inactive, people aged 45+ (particularly men) and people living in the most employment deprived areas of Dundee.
The team will also contribute towards the integration of services that support employability more effectively to create a City wide Dundee Employability Service, which is delivered in city centre and neighbourhood locations. These include Dundee City Council services (Community Learning & Development; Housing; Advice Services) and services delivered by other organisations within the Dundee Partnership (eg Dundee & Angus College, Skills Development Scotland; Department for Work & Pensions; NHS Tayside; Heath and Social Care Partnership; Third Sector Organisations).
The post delivers a specialist Financial Capability and Debt/Money Advice service to clients including Better Off Calculations, Financial Inclusion Health Checks and support for clients with more complex money needs that require a qualified money advice worker and provides advice, consultation and an advocacy service to clients on statutory in work benefits and other welfare services as appropriate, and encourage the take-up of such benefits and services, to maximise income when taking employment or other positive destinations.
The post holder will be required to undertake financial capability supports with all appropriate clients, using the Financial Services Authority’s Adult Financial Capability Framework and set up action plan’s to record areas for development, activities undertaking to Improve financial skills, knowledge and experience and what this has meant for the client
This post is part funded by the European Social Fund. In line with the conditions of the ESF grant awarded to Dundee City Council, 100% of the post holder’s duties will be related to the ESF project the post is funded to deliver.

You will have experience of working in an employability setting.
You will have experience of providing support to individual clients.
You will have knowledge and skills in providing specialist financial capability and debt/money advice and the ability to deliver financial capability training sessions to workless individuals.
You will have experience partnership and of inter agency working.
You will have good communication skills and planning and organisational skills.
You will be self motivated, creative, enthusiastic and approachable.
You may be required to work irregular hours.
