This post is part funded by European Structural Funds. The post holder will be solely involved in European Social Fund activities (i.e. spend 100% of their contracted hours on the ESF activity only and undertake no other non-ESF related duties).
Based in Dundee House, you will work either full time, 37 hours per week or part time, 18.5 hours per week. Please indicate your preference on the application form. These posts are temporary until 31 December 2022.
You will be educated to degree level in relevant subject area and/or be able to demonstrate relevant successful working experience in marketing, business development, sales, problem solving and business.
To play an effective role within the Employability team through developing and managing relationships with employers across the city to promote employability, provide a solutions- focused and streamlined recruitment and training service that sources opportunities for jobless citizens and co-ordinating a seamless, high quality response from the Discover Work network and related partners.
Promoting the newly formed Dundee Partnership Discover Work brand, negotiating Partner Agreements with employers and service providers and securing job opportunities, work placements, site visits and employer input into the co-design and co-delivery of employability services. Gaining the commitment of employers in the provision of pro-active in-work support, eg mentoring and in-work progression and providing a solutions-focused approach to employer workforce needs through close liaison with partner support services such as Business Gateway, Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Enterprise.
The ultimate role of the post is to achieve strong, mutually beneficial working partnerships with employers that supports their workforce and achieves better employment rates in the city.
You will be able to demonstrate ability to develop strategies to generate business and maximise opportunities to increase business and demonstrable experience of using communication and other tools to initiate mutually beneficial business relationships.
You will have a proven track record in meeting targets and experience of satisfactorily delivering collaborative working across partnerships to deliver project outcomes.
You will have an understanding of the local labour market, employer needs and up to date recruitment methods.
You will have excellent oral/written communication, negotiation and persuasion skills and the ability to identify opportunities, empathise with customers/employers and develop attractive solutions.
You will be able to work flexibly and manage and prioritise your own workload with good time management skills as well as being able to work effectively in a team environment, with staff at all levels of the organisation and partner agencies.
