Based in the IT Infrastructure Section, Dundee House, you will work 37 hours per week on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee area. Funding for this post is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19, or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30, who live within the Dundee City boundary, and who are Not in Employment, Education or Training prior to appointment.

You will have 2 Highers at C or above to include English and/or Maths/Science or equivalent National Qualification in a computer related subject or a relevant Foundation Apprenticeship.
You will undertake appropriate theoretical and practical training to work as part of the IT Network and Telephony team on maintenance, support and implementation projects and support business solutions to meet the Council’s needs.
You will have a knowledge/understanding of computer networks and of mobile devices or Windows laptop support.
You will have excellent problem-solving skills, oral/written communication skills and have awareness of the importance of confidentiality.
You will have the ability to priorities a workload and be able to analyse information with particular attention to detail.
You will have the ability to be flexible and adaptable to change and use initiative to problem solve.
You will be able to work effectively as part of a team.
You will be committed and have the ability to achieve a full Modern Apprenticeship and attain the Diploma for Information Technology and Telecommunications SVQ 3 at SCQF level 6.
