Job Description

Are you an articulate individual with an enthusiastic and positive approach and excellent customer service skills? You should be prepared to work as part of a dynamic team that aims to help others and make a difference for the people of Dundee. Why not join us and be part of an amazing team? Dundee City Council has already made a commitment to assist citizens through improved delivery of support and access to advice. Your role would be part of a team dedicated to that goal. Council Advice Services offer multiple types of support in relation to benefits advice, debt advice and energy efficiency advice. Your role would be within a supportive and dynamic environment, focused on alleviating poverty and empowering citizens to get back on their feet financially.

Local authorities in Scotland are also responsible for the delivery of the Scottish Welfare Fund, consisting of Crisis Grants and Community Care Grant payments to individuals and families in need. Your role, as well as being linked into the other types of support listed above, will be responsible for assisting clients in hardship who have approached the Scottish Welfare Fund for assistance.

Full training will be provided to deliver a quality service in an effective and caring manner. You must be able to work in a contact centre environment and manage a range of customer focussed support roles within the service whilst dealing sensitively and respectfully with our customers' needs.

Based in Dundee House, 50 North Lindsay Street, you will work full time 37 hours per week on temporary basis until 31 May 2024.
