Based in Ninewells Hospital, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, temporary to cover maternity leave.
Secondments will be considered for current Dundee City Council employees. Line Manager approval should be sought prior to applying for secondment.
You will have CQSW, CSS, Dip SW, BA Hons SW or equivalent.
You will deliver holistic social work services to the wards at Ninewells Hospital and offer practical and emotional support to patients and their carers/families.
You will have extensive experience in community care and adult support and protection work and community care case holding experience. You will also have evidenced experience of multi-agency collaborative work with other agencies.
You will be able to communicate effectively with service users and carers, undertake initial assessments, relate positively with colleagues, in SW and other agencies, work to tight timescales and prioritise competing demands.
You will be a creative thinker with the ability to consider different resource options, able to respond to members of the public with clarity and respect, motivated to promote the life chances of service users, willing to learn, share knowledge and keep up-to-date with research and believe that the quality of service you provide is paramount.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
You must have the ability to register with Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale.
