Based at Linlathen Resource Centre, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. The New Beginnings team is a multi-disciplinary team which supports pregnant women where there are risks and concerns about substance use, mental health or learning disability, and where an unborn baby assessment is required to identify and deliver interventions which reduce these risks.
You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).
You will provide an effective high quality social work service to children and families, assist children and families to live safely in the community and so prevent children needing to be "looked after". You will work with looked after children to support rehabilitation with their birth families or towards permanent placement with substitute families.
You will have experience of working with children and families and of collaborative work with other agencies.
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of child care and protection practice and legislation.
You will be able to communicate effectively with children and families, undertake comprehensive assessments, work to fixed timescales and creatively and relate positively with colleagues in Social Work and other agencies.
You will have a commitment to engaging families and carers in decision-making processes and to promotion of positive outcomes for children and young people.
You must be available to work beyond normal hours when needs of children and families require this.
You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale.
