Temporary full time position until June 2020

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person with a technological mindset and a thirst for knowledge to fill a vacancy within the IT Business Services Team on a temporary basis until the 30th of June 2020. The primary role will be to provide end user support in a large, complex networked IT environment. The successful candidate will be able to use their own initiative, have an eye for detail and be able to work to established standards and IT industry good practice. 

Experience and skills in some of the following would be advantageous - supporting Microsoft Windows devices, supporting Microsoft operating systems, supporting Microsoft Office, Supporting staff using line of business application systems.  

Job Details

To deliver first and second line IT support services to a wide range of Council and partner IT users to maximise the number of issues resolved at the first point of contact, in accordance with Council policies, standards and procedures with a commitment to achieve best value.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline and/or able to demonstrate
equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Driving Licence 
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.

The preferred candidate for this position may be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
