East Lothian Council are looking to appoint a suitably qualified, creative an innovative Senior Play Leader who puts play at the heart of learning for young children. You will have a sound knowledge of child development and play along with a pedagogical approach to children's learning.
This posts will be instrumental in planning and providing experiences, opportunities and learning for children aged 2- 3 years, using indoor and outdoor environments to support play as a tool for learning. This post requires an appropriate qualification along with extensive knowledge and experience in working with children aged 2- 3 years and their families.
The successful applicant will be a good team player who is reflective in their practise, pro-active within the playroom and comfortable in speaking confidently to a broad range of people. Tots and Teens provides an opportunity for practical childcare experiences for pupils within the High School therefore leading by example, liaising with colleagues and supporting the role of the Play leader are key to this position.
To work as an effective member of an early learning and childcare team delivering high quality child led early learning experiences for young children and their families.

Educated to HNC in Childcare and Education or SVQ3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) or equivalent
