We are looking for a motivated person, seeking a challenging role within a busy Economic Development environment to assist the Council to deliver inclusive economic growth in East Renfrewshire.    The post is located within the Council’s Economic Development and Inclusive Growth team.     

To play an effective role within the Economic Development and Inclusive Growth team including the development of key revenue and capital projects that support Council Plan priorities; promoting external funding opportunities corporately and regionally; lobbying in relation to future funding; leading on external funding bids; co-ordinating the development of business cases; supporting project implementation; supporting the delivery of projects and ensuring that external funding is managed effectively and compliantly across the Council and in line with funder requirements.

The post holder will also be required to lead on strategy development and provide reporting function on a wide range of performance and socio-economic data.    This includes but not limited to:   Local Government Benchmark Framework, SLAED Annual Returns and Mid-Year and End-Year Reporting at a Council level.

Reporting to the Economic Development Manager you will also assist the team in help shape and deliver a wide range of initiatives that benefits our local residents, town centres and neighbourhoods.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that agreed standards, policies and procedures are met and that all operations comply with statutory responsibilities, national legislation, standing orders, delegated authority, Council policies, aims and objectives.

The post holder will assist in the planning, organising and co-ordination of resources to carry out service activities to the required standard. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is essential, as well as experience of providing high level professional and economic development expertise, advice and support on projects and you will have successfully supported projects in the past, demonstrating effective partnership working and transformational change.

A driving licence is desirable.

Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
