Job Description

Work Pattern: 09:00 to 16:30 on a rota basis Mon – Tues – Wed one week and Thursday Friday the following week

Interview Date: Week commencing 28 October 2019

To undertake vehicle checks ensuring all Health and Safety legal requirements are met.

To ensure individual and groups of passengers have a safe and comfortable journey providing any necessary guidance and assistance to enable them to use transport with confidence.

Ensure that any specialist equipment such as passenger lifts, wheelchair clamps are operated properly.

Undertake handyperson duties as deemed appropriate.


We pay the Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £9.07 per hour for this post.

The Individual

You should possess good communication skills and be able to transfer these in different circumstances e.g. supporting passengers on the bus, dealing with members of the public. You should have the ability to relate to varying groups and individuals.

You should be a good team player as well as being able to work alone and unsupervised at times. You should have the ability to provide and regular and effective service which enables you to manage your workload. You should have the ability to carry out the physical aspects of the job.

You must have a full driving licence with significant driving experience. You should also have the ability to deal with emergencies/use your initiative when driving/maintaining the vehicle. You should have a knowledge of Health and Safety issues required for the maintenance of vehicles.
