Job Details

We are seeking an experienced RICS qualified Chartered Surveyor to fulfil a full-time permanent role within the Estates Service. The Estates team, are responsible for the management of the Council's non-housing land and property portfolio; disposing, acquiring and managing the assets in an efficient manner to the benefit of the Council and the occupying Services.

As an experienced senior Estates Surveyor, you will be responsible for a personal caseload of property related professional and technical work. This will include; agreeing lease and licence terms, renewals and rent reviews, and the associated administration. In addition to this, you will assist with day to day asset management involving site inspections, managing alteration requests, and any other landlord and tenant matters.

Other activities may include acquisitions, disposals, asset valuations, the development of business case, and report writing. The post holder will be required to instruct and manage external consultants, liaise with relevant Council staff including Planning, Legal Services and other officers.

The Person

Previous commercial property management experience and five year post qualification RICS membership is essential, whilst valuation, acquisition/disposal experience is beneficial, as is a property related degree and Registered Valuer accreditation. A valid UK licence is essential.

The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and have good communication skills are required as well as a commitment to give a high quality service to colleagues and our customers.
