The Pathways Coordinator is based in each school, support and facilitate the individual relationship between the carefully matched mentor and the talented, inspiring young person. This allows the young person to reach their potential and progress to a positive, sustainable post-school destination.

Specific role of the Pathways Coordinator

  • Helping build exceptional individual relationships with young people across S1 to S6 and delivering S1 & S2 group work to full year curriculum.
  • Helping to drive mentor recruitment. Consistently supporting, actively engaging and motivating mentors from training through the length of their engagement with the programme.
  • Actively support MCR young people to set, experience then follow their education and employment pathways.
  • Evidence progression, impact and best practice with young people input, quantitative feedback and qualitative case studies.

Your work pattern will be Monday-Friday, 08:48-16:30 with 30min lunch

Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements

The individual should have experience of working with young people and experience of working as part of a service-focused team. They should have an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships with young people aged 11-18 years, education colleagues, volunteer mentors and local employers.

The individual should be able to present programme information and deliver prepared training sessions to groups.

A good general education is required, with particular attention to written and oral communication. The minimum requirement is for 4 Standard Grades, Grade 3 or above, to include English and Mathematics. Competent digital literacy including MS word & excel, social media and other digital platforms

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
