A vacancy has arisen for a Social Worker within Adults East Services based in Buckhaven and working in the Levenmouth area.
The successful candidate will work in a busy adult’s team and will carry a varied caseload, working with those from 16 to 65 years, with a range of needs. This includes those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, sensory impairment and blood borne viruses. A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) is essential.
The Person
Experience of working in adults’ services would be advantageous but not essential. However, the successful candidates should have the ability to work creatively in a solution-focused way, be a team player and show a positive “can-do” attitude.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a range of assessment and care management tasks including:
- Undertaking outcome focused assessments, risk assessments, risk management plans with adults
- Carrying out a range of adult protection work, including: Inquiries, investigations and case conferences
- Participating in a team Duty Rota
- Acting as Guardian on behalf of the CSWO
- Supervising Private Guardians
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
If newly qualified, you are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) prior to taking up employment of this role and to complete the required post registration training and learning (PRTL) over the registration period.
