This Post is for a qualified Social Worker within Justice Social Work Groupwork Services Team. Groupwork Services is a welcoming and supportive team made up of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, Justice Workers, Caledonian Women's Workers and a Caledonian Children's worker. The Social Workers within the team facilitate the MF:MC/MF2C Groupwork Programme for men convicted of sexual offences, the Caledonian Programme for men convicted of domestic abuse offences and write Justice Social Work Reports for men convicted of sexual offences. A full suite of training will be available to the successful candidate.

If you are a qualified Social Worker, have an interest in domestic abuse, sexual offending, understand the positive impact of groupwork programmes, and require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Working days are Monday to Friday, and there will be a requirement to work one late night per week depending on the groups that are running.

It would be desirable but not essential if you had some experience of Justice Social Work, facilitating groupwork programmes, and have completed training in the relevant risk assessment tools e.g. Level of Service/Case and experience of Management Inventory; Risk Matrix 2000, Stable and Acute 2007, and Spousal Assault Risk Assessment (SARA), however a full suite of training will be available to the successful candidate.

Groupwork programmes are recorded, and you must be willing to receive constructive feedback on your practice.

You should have good communication skills, both verbal and written, as you will prepare reports for Scottish Courts Service, MAPPA and MARAC.

You will receive training if required, to allow you to assess the suitability of potential participants for the Moving Forward 2 Change (MF2C) and for the Caledonian Groupwork Programme that are facilitated by the Team.

You will undertake risk assessments and associated liaison tasks jointly with Police Scotland and Social Work colleagues.

Trauma-informed approaches should be embedded in your practice.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.

If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
