Job Description

The Day Care Manager will be responsible for the management of a day care facility for older adults. As manager, you will manage a team of staff providing support, supervision and development of staff and implement the Council’s policies and procedures in relation to HR, Health & Safety and Finance. You will ensure the service develops within a performance framework and operational planning to provide person centred care in line with National Health and Social Care Standards. You will be expected to work with partner organisations to provide services and promote relationships with local communities, other council departments and elected members.

The successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

Applicants must possess the Registered Managers Award or have the ability to work towards the SVQ4 Level 4 in Care and LMC.

As a Day Care Manager it is essential that you register as a manager with the SSSC and either have, or be willing to work towards a suitable registerable qualification (eg SVQ 4 Care and a management qualification to 60 SCQF credits). You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
