Job Description

Role – Home Care Co-ordinator (Days & Out of Hours) (Care Services)
Location – GCHSCP, 100 Borron Street, Glasgow, G4 9XE
Hours and Shift Pattern – 30 hours per week
Contract Status – 1 x permanent post (Days), 2 x temporary post (temp up to 12 weeks) (Days), 1 x temporary post (temp up to 18/02/2026) (OOH), 1 x temporary post (temp up to 12 weeks) (OOH)


An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Co-ordinator working within the Home Care Service, where you will report to the Area Operations Manager. We are advertising for a number of posts within the North West, North East, and South sectors of the city.


The Home Care Service provides support to predominantly vulnerable service users across Glasgow. As a Home Care Co-ordinator, you will be the first point of contact for Home Carers, service users and family members, escalating issues as appropriate to the Area Operations Manager. You will be responsible for the scheduling of home care visits and deploying staffing resource across your geographical patch.


You will be required to prepare and maintain Personal Support Plans (PSPs) for service users in your patch and carry out Workplace Observations (WPO’s) of your home care team, ensuring a high quality service is being provided to our service users.
There are times where you be required to undertake Home Care duties to support service users and your team. Applicants must possess good organisational and communication skills, coupled with the ability to monitor, co-ordinate and supervise the work of a group of Home Carers, providing advice, guidance and support as required.


Experience of working with vulnerable service users in a care setting is required along with a knowledge of IT systems including word and excel.


Applicants should be qualified, working towards or have the ability to undertake and attain a qualification at SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a relevant management qualification (SCQF level 7) to meet the requirements of registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.


Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.


These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
